Synonyms:
  • 9-(3-Bromophenyl)-9H-carbazole
  • N-(3-Bromophenyl)carbazole
  • 9-(3-Bromophenyl)Carbazole
Description:

9-(3-Bromophenyl)carbazole is a dipyridyl compound that is used to generate the 9,9'-dibromo-9,9'-diacetoxybiphenyl from bromine and phenol. The dipyridyl group in this compound enables it to be used as an efficient catalyst for cross-coupling reactions. It has been shown to have high quantum efficiency, which can be increased by using multilayer films of calcium carbonate. 9-(3-Bromophenyl)carbazole has also been shown to have good transport properties and can be used in devices with electron injection. This compound emits light when exposed to UV radiation, making it an ideal candidate for use in solar cells or other photovoltaic devices.
