Description

(S)-N-(2-Propynyl)-2,3-dihydroinden-1-amine is a dopamine prodrug that has been shown to have neuroprotective effects in experimental models of Parkinson's disease. It has been shown to inhibit the production of dopamine receptor antagonists, such as rasagiline and other inhibitor molecules that inhibit the breakdown of dopamine. This drug also has anti-inflammatory properties and can increase the expression of neurotrophic factors in the brain. (S)-N-(2-Propynyl)-2,3-dihydroinden-1-amine has been shown to prevent neuronal death by inhibiting the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and preventing cell death caused by DNA damage.
