Description:
1-Piperidin-4-yl-1H-imidazo[4,5-b]pyridin-2(3H)-one is a reactive intermediate that can be used in reductive amination reactions. It is efficient and selective for the synthesis of substituted pyridine derivatives from electron deficient aromatic compounds. This compound also has a high chemoselectivity with respect to nitrogen nucleophiles. 1-(Piperidin-4-yl)-1H-imidazo[4,5-b]pyridin-2(3H)-one is an antagonist at the serotonin 5HT2A receptor.
