The active ingredient, 2,5,7,8,9,14-Hexaacetoxy-3-benzoyloxy-15-hydroxyjatropha-6(17),11E-diene (HABJ), is a diterpene present in the plant Jatropha curcas. HABJ has been found to have an antitumor effect against skin cancer cells and also inhibits replication of human papillomavirus (HPV) and herpes simplex virus (HSV). HABJ has shown to be effective at inhibiting tumor growth in animal studies. This compound may be useful for treating symptoms related to bladder disorders such as urinary incontinence.
