Product Information
N-(Chloroacetyl)-2,4,5-trifluoroaniline is an intercalative and anti-cancer agent that binds to nucleic acids. It is synthesized by reacting 2,4,5-trifluoroaniline with chloroacetic acid in the presence of zinc chloride. This drug has been shown to be active against lung cancer cells in vitro by binding to DNA and preventing DNA replication. In vivo studies have also shown that N-(chloroacetyl)-2,4,5-trifluoroaniline inhibits tumor growth in mice. The drug is believed to bind to the pyridinium ring of guanine in DNA and cause covalent crosslinking of adjacent pyrimidine bases. N-(chloroacetyl)-2,4,5-trifluoroaniline can also inhibit protein synthesis by binding to polyribonucleotide chains at the ribosomal
