Description:
Oxazole-2-carbothioic acid amide is a heterocycle that belongs to the class of thiazoles. It has been synthesized as a sulfoximine, an inhibitor of cysteine synthase. This compound was designed to inhibit the production of glutathione and prevent the formation of reactive oxygen species by inhibiting oxidative metabolism in cells. Oxazole-2-carbothioic acid amide also inhibits protein synthesis, which can be useful for treating cancer cells.
