Product Information
- 2-(3-Benzyloxy-Phenyl)-Thiazole-4-Carbaldehyde
2-(3-(Benzyloxy)phenyl)thiazole-4-carbaldehyde is a chloride salt that is used as a corrosion inhibitor in the production of polymers. This compound has been shown to be stable in water and air, but hydrolyzes readily in the presence of acids or bases. It is also effective at low concentrations against fatty acid salts, which are often found in environmental pollution. The function of this compound is to inhibit acrylonitrile polymerization by forming an acid complex with the catalyst. The 2-(3-(benzyloxy)phenyl)thiazole-4-carbaldehyde can reversibly bind to calcium carbonate and other metal oxides, preventing their reaction with diazonium salt and other compounds.
2-(3-(Benzyloxy)phenyl)thiazole-4-carbaldehyde has been shown to be thermoreversible, meaning that it will bind more strongly at higher temperatures than lower temperatures.
