Description:
4,6-Dichloro-1H-indazole is an antibacterial agent that inhibits bacterial growth by binding to the gyrase and topoisomerase IV enzymes. It has been shown to be active against Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium, Escherichia coli, and Staphylococcus aureus. 4,6-Dichloro-1H-indazole binds to the enzyme gyrase and prevents it from breaking down DNA. This causes DNA replication errors which leads to cell death.
