Product Information
3,6-Dichloro-4-nitro-1H-indazole is an indazole drug that has been shown to have glycine receptor antagonist activity and is being investigated for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer's disease and chronic pain. 3,6-Dichloro-4-nitro-1H-indazole binds to the glycine site on the NMDA receptor, which is a subtype of glutamate receptors. It is also being studied for its potential use in anesthesia because it does not affect GABA receptors, which are associated with anesthesia. 3,6-Dichloro-4-nitro-1H-indazole has also been found to be effective against amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). The mechanism of action of this drug is unclear, but may be due to its ability to inhibit excitatory amino acid release or block the synthesis of excitatory neurotransmitters. 3
