Product Information
mPEG11-CH2CH2COOH is a water soluble polymer of the general structure HO-[CH2-CH2-O]n-[PEG]-[CH2-CH2-O]n. It can be prepared by condensation of acrylic acid and propylene glycol. This monomer is used in the fabrication of poly(ethylene glycol) with molecular weights ranging from 1000 to 5000 Da. The monomer is also used to prepare macromonomers for use as crosslinkers, which are added during the production of polyurethane foams, coatings, and adhesives. mPEG11-CH2CH2COOH has been shown to be stable at pH 4.5 and 7.0 when exposed to air, but hydrolyzes rapidly at pH 9 or 10 due to the presence of hydroxyl groups on its backbone.
