The synthesis of (S)-(6,6²-dimethoxybiphenyl-2,2²-diyl)bis[bis(3,5-di-tert-butyl4methoxyphenyl)phosphine] involves the reaction of 2-(diethylamino)ethyl allyl carbonate and phosphorus trichloride in dichloromethane. The yield rate is approximately 70%. This ligand is also an asymmetric catalyst for allylation reactions.
