2,5-Dihydro-2-(1-methyl-1-phenylethyl)-5-pentyl-1H-pyrido[4,3-b]indol-1-one is a synthetic cannabinoid that binds to the cannabinoid receptors in the human liver. It has been shown to be a potent agonist of these receptors, with an EC50 of 25 nM. This drug has been detected in urine samples and can be used as an analog for heroin addiction. The isomerization of 2,5-dihydro-2-(1-methyl-1-phenylethyl)-5 pentyl 1H pyrido[4,3 b] indol - 1 one has been studied using magnetic resonance spectroscopy and it was found that the ethylbenzyl isomer forms more readily than the methylbenzyl isomer.
