Product Information
4,7-Dibromo-2-octyl-2H-benzo[D][1,2,3]triazole (DBT) is a fluorescent compound that has been used as a reference in cyclic voltammetry and gel permeation chromatography. DBT emits light with a maximum wavelength of around 590 nm when excited by UV radiation at 365 nm. It also exhibits fluorescence in the visible region of the spectrum. In the presence of an oxidizing agent such as hydrogen peroxide, DBT is converted to 2,3-dibromo-4,7-dihydroxybenzo[1,2,5]triazine (DBTH). The emission spectrum of DBTH is blue shifted relative to that of DBT. The efficiency and spectra of DTB can be altered by thermal treatment or annealing.
