This compound also has anti-inflammatory properties because it inhibits prostaglandin synthesis through inhibition of cyclooxygenase activity. Daphnicyclidin F also binds to DNA and RNA, which may be responsible for its anti-inflammatory effects and growth inhibition in bacterial cells
