Product Information
Daphnicyclidin F is a natural product that belongs to the class of alkaloids. It has been isolated from the leaves and stem bark of Daphniphyllum densiflorum. The structures of this compound are not fully elucidated, but it is known to have a bicyclic system with two rings and an oxazole ring, which is typical for daphniphylline derivatives. These configurations are due to the presence of two chiral centers in the molecule. Spectroscopic data revealed that Daphnicyclidin F has a molecular mass of 287 amu and a molecular formula C14H14N2O4. This compound also has anti-inflammatory properties because it inhibits prostaglandin synthesis through inhibition of cyclooxygenase activity. Daphnicyclidin F also binds to DNA and RNA, which may be responsible for its anti-inflammatory effects and growth inhibition in bacterial cells
