CER8(d9) is an ion channel activator. It is a high-purity, recombinant protein that has been shown to activate the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (nAChR). This protein is a potent inhibitor of the nAChR and may be used as a research tool in pharmacology and cell biology. CER8(d9) is expressed in E. coli as a fusion protein with glutathione S-transferase (GST). The purified recombinant protein contains no detectable levels of endotoxin (0.1 EU/mg), making it suitable for use in experiments involving live cells or animals.
