Product Information

Name:
Amitifadine hydrochloride
Description:

Amitifadine hydrochloride is an antidepressant drug that belongs to the group of 5-HT2C receptor antagonists. Amitifadine hydrochloride is a dopamine reuptake inhibitor, which inhibits the uptake of dopamine and prevents the depletion of this neurotransmitter. Amitifadine hydrochloride has been shown to have antidepressant effects in humans at sub-effective doses, which may be due to its ability to inhibit dopamine uptake and increase serotonin concentrations. This drug also has anti-anxiety effects and can be used as a treatment for Parkinson's disease. Amitifadine hydrochloride has not been shown to cause any toxic effects in humans or animals when given at therapeutic doses.
