Ethyl 2-chlorothieno[3,2-d]pyrimidine-4-carboxylate (ETC) is a chemical pesticide that has shown to have antitumor response. It has been shown as a model system in the study of c. glabrata and the ethanol extract of its mycelia. ETC inhibits the growth of c. glabrata by inhibiting protein synthesis and DNA replication. It is also an anti-cancer compound that displays antioxidant properties. The optimum concentration for ETC is between 1 and 10 μM, with an IC50 value of 5 μM against c. glabrata.
