Product Information
N-(2-(2-(dimethylamino)ethyl)-6-(2-hydroxypropan-2-yl)-2H-indazol-5-yl)-6-(trifluoromethyl)picolinamide is a potent inhibitor of the Kv1.3 potassium channel. It inhibits the function of this channel by binding to the S4 transmembrane segment, which blocks depolarization of the cell membrane. This inhibition prevents action potentials from being propagated throughout the neuron and blocking neurotransmission. N-(2-(2-(dimethylamino)ethyl)-6-(2-hydroxypropan-2-yl)-2H-indazol-5-yl)-6-(trifluoromethyl)picolinamide is also an activator of the Kv1.1 potassium channel, which is found in some neurons and helps to regulate neuronal excitability by controlling how quickly neurons can fire an action potential.
