9-Fluoro-2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-1H-2-benzazepine is a potent and selective inhibitor of angiogenesis. It blocks the s1p1 receptor protein in endothelial cells, which prevents the migration of these cells. This inhibition can be beneficial for treating solid tumours or erythematosis that are mediated by angiogenesis. 9-Fluoro-2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-1H-2-benzazepine has been shown to reduce the number of metastases in a mouse model for breast cancer. It also inhibits the development of colitis induced by oxadiazole and reduces bowel inflammation caused by ischemia/reperfusion injury in rats.
