N-Cyclopropyl-N'-piperidin-4-yl-quinoxaline-2,3-diamine hydrochloride (CPQ) is a prodrug that is metabolized to the active form CPQA. The solvates of CPQ are also disclosed. CPQ is a nucleoside analog that inhibits the enzyme adenosine deaminase and blocks the synthesis of adenosine. It has been investigated as an antiviral agent for HIV and as a therapeutic for cancer.
