Description:
5-Methoxy-1,3-dimethyl-2-nitrobenzene is a reactive aromatic compound that has been shown to give yields of up to 95%. 5-Methoxy-1,3-dimethyl-2-nitrobenzene is also an electrophilic compound. It can react with nitronium ions and perchloric acid to form nitroso compounds. It has been shown to have a singlet resonance profile. The molecule can be protonated at the nitro group to form the resonance structure A. The molecule has been observed in both the singlet and triplet states, which are magnetic.
