Product Information
5-Ethynyl-1-methyl-1H-indole is a synthetic organic compound that is used to produce heterojunction photovoltaic devices. It can be synthesized in two steps from 1-ethynylbenzene, which is commercially available. 5-Ethynyl-1-methyl-1H-indole has been shown to have an electron affinity of 1.4 eV and an optical bandgap of 2.2 eV. This compound has photocurrent values as high as 0.7 mA/cm2 and can be used as a sensitiser for optical properties with a high quantum yield (0.6%). 5-Ethynyl-1-methyl-1H-indole also has transport properties that are greater than those of many other organic compounds and can be used in the production of heterojunction photovoltaic devices.
