4-Propyl-pyridin-2-ylamine is a molecule that binds to the active site of the enzyme protein kinase C delta (PKCδ). The PKCδ enzyme is involved in many cellular processes, including cell proliferation and apoptosis. The binding of 4-propyl-pyridin-2-ylamine to PKCδ prevents the phosphorylation of its substrate, which leads to inhibition of PKCδ activity. This drug has been shown experimentally to inhibit PKCδ activity and may be useful as a lead compound for further development.
