Product Information

Name:
6β-Oxycodol
Controlled Product
Description:

6β-Oxycodol is a metabolite of codeine, which is an opioid analgesic. Codeine is converted to morphine and then to 6β-oxycodol in the liver. 6β-Oxycodol is excreted in urine after ingestion or administration. The calibration curve for 6β-oxycodol was obtained using reconstituted urine samples diluted with water to concentrations of 10 ng/mL and 50 ng/mL, followed by spiking with standards of 10 ng/mL and 50 ng/mL. The detection limits were found to be 0.5 ng/mL for the lower concentration and 2.5 ng/mL for the higher concentration. The method was validated by analyzing urine samples spiked with heroin at concentrations of 100 ng/mL, 300 ng/mL, 500 ng/mL, 1000 ng/mL, 2000 ng/mL, 3000 ng/mL, 5000 ng/mL, 10000 ng/mL and 20000 ng/ mL.
