Product Information
The 1-methyl-1H,4H,5H,6H,7H-pyrrolo[2,3-c]pyridine molecule is an analog of the pyridine hydrochloride. The synthesis of this molecule can be achieved by borohydride reduction of pyridine hydrochloride followed by treatment with halides. This annulated molecule is efficient for multigram syntheses and has been shown to have a high degree of stereoselectivity. Reduction with sodium borohydride or palladium provides the 1-methyl-1H,4H,5H,6H,7H-pyrrolo[2,3-c]pyridine skeleton needed for further chemical transformations. The annulated nature of this molecule allows for the synthesis of a variety of skeletons that are useful in organic chemistry. Finally, debenzylation and deuterium labeling experiments have revealed that the nucleus of this molecule is a cycl
