It is a structural isomer of 5-(3'-bromophenyl)-4,5-dihydroisoxazole and has been shown to inhibit monocyte activation. 3-Bromo-5-phenyl-4,5-dihydroisoxazole is synthesized from 2,6-dibromopyridine and 5-(3'-bromophenyl)furan in two steps using microwave heating and xylene as solvent. The molecular formula for this compound is C10H9BrN2O. It has a molecular weight of 252.29 g/mol and contains two stereogenic centers in its structure.
