Product Information
Apigenin is a flavonoid found in plants such as parsley, celery, and chamomile. It has been shown to have antioxidant properties. Apigenin 7-O-malonylglucoside is the conjugate of apigenin with malonic acid and it can be found in petroselinum (parsley) and cytoplasm. Apigenin 7-O-malonylglucoside has been shown to have proton uptake capacity that is concomitant with its ability to bind with the vacuole membrane. This compound may be able to cross the blood brain barrier due to its ability to be taken up by glial cells. Magnetic resonance spectroscopy studies have shown that this compound binds with cytoplasmic proteins and reacts with other compounds such as solvents, flavonoids, and malonic acid.
