(R)-Ibuprofen (S)-Methocarbamol Ester is a research tool that can be used to investigate the function of ion channels and receptors. It is an activator of ligand-gated ion channels and a ligand for G protein-coupled receptors. (R)-Ibuprofen (S)-Methocarbamol Ester has been shown to act as an inhibitor of voltage-gated potassium channels and calcium ion channels, in addition to being a potent inhibitor of the enzyme phosphodiesterase 4. It is also known to inhibit protein interactions by binding with high affinity to proteins such as Src, EGFR, and p38 MAP kinase.
