Description:
3-Hydroxy-1-(4-hydroxy-3,5-dimethoxyphenyl)propan-1-one is a natural product that has been isolated from the leaves of plants in the genus Oleracea. 3HOP is an antibiotic with potent antibacterial activity against gram positive and negative bacteria. It also inhibits protein synthesis and can be used to treat gram negative bacteria infections such as Escherichia coli. 3HOP has been shown to inhibit protein synthesis by binding to ribosomes, preventing the formation of peptide bonds between amino acids.
