Furo[2,3-d]pyrimidin-4-amine is a kinase inhibitor that has been shown to bind to glycogen synthase kinase-3β (GSK-3β), an enzyme involved in the phosphorylation of glycogen. Furo[2,3-d]pyrimidin-4-amine inhibits the activity of GSK-3β and prevents it from phosphorylating glycogen, which leads to increased glycogen synthesis. This drug may be effective against cancer cells as well as other diseases associated with abnormal cell proliferation due to its inhibition of GSK-3β. Furo[2,3-d]pyrimidin-4-amine also exhibits anticancer potential by inhibiting the growth of cancer cells and inducing apoptosis via hydrogen bonding interactions with DNA and radical scavenging activities.
