Description:
1-(tert-Butyl) 2-methyl 1,2-indolinedicarboxylate is an efficient and selective diallyl ester that is used in the synthesis of chiral α-amino acids. This compound has shown good activity as a lipase and cyclic lipase, but it is not reactive with other types of enzymes such as proteases. The enantiomeric purity of this compound was determined to be >99% by gas chromatography. Yields are high, at over 90%, when using the kinetic resolution method.
