Product Information
BF 738735 is a potential drug target for the treatment of viruses. It has been shown to inhibit replication of the hepatitis B virus and human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) in cell culture. BF 738735 inhibits viral replication by binding to the RNA genome of the virus and inhibiting its translation. BF 738735 also has anti-cancer activities, with an effective dose at 5 μM in a number of cancer cell lines. The anti-cancer effects are due to inhibition of RNA synthesis and protein synthesis, leading to apoptosis. BF 738735 binds to lipid kinase enzymes, which are involved in the phosphorylation of lipids, including sphingolipids, glycerophospholipids, and cholesteryl esters.
