Product Information
- Carbamic acid, [(4-amino-2-pyridinyl)methyl]-, 1,1-dimethylethyl ester
4-Amino-2-(Boc-aminomethyl)pyridine is an analogue of 4-amino-2-(N,N-dimethylaminomethyl)pyridine. It has been shown to be a potent agonist at the angiotensin AT2 receptor and can be used to treat hypertension. 4-Amino-2-(Boc-aminomethyl)pyridine binds to the AT2 receptor in a conformation that is similar to that of its natural ligand, angiotensin II. This binding causes conformational changes in the receptor that lead to activation of G protein signaling pathways, which in turn stimulate phospholipase C (PLC). PLC hydrolyses phosphatidylinositol 4,5 bisphosphate (PIP2), leading to increased levels of inositol triphosphate (IP3) and diacylglycerol (D
