Product Information
4-(4-Bromo-phenyl)-2-oxo-2,3-dihydro-thiazole-5-carboxylic acid ethyl ester is a drug that inhibits the synthesis of proteins in mammalian cells. The drug has been shown to inhibit the activity of synthase enzymes, which are involved in the production of aliphatic hydrocarbons and aromatic amino acids. This inhibition is thought to be due to its ability to bind with the hydroxyl group on the enzyme's active site. 4-(4-Bromo-phenyl)-2-oxo-2,3-dihydro-thiazole -5 carboxylic acid ethyl ester also inhibits protein synthesis by binding with the carboxy group on the enzyme's active site. The drug also has been shown to have antihepatitis properties by inhibiting hepatic p450 enzymes that are responsible for hydroxylating xenobiotics
