Product Information
3-tert-Butoxycarbonylamino-3-(3-fluoro-4-methoxy-phenyl)-propionic acid is an oxirane that can be synthesized by reacting isopropyl alcohol with hydrochloric acid. 3-tert-Butoxycarbonylamino-3-(3-fluoro-4-methoxy-phenyl)-propionic acid has a shift of 9.8 ppm and can be easily detected in the spectra of protons. This oxirane reacts with formic acid to form formic acid, which is a mild irritant that causes inflammation. 3-tert-Butoxycarbonylamino-3-(3-fluoro-4methyl phenyl)-propionic acid also decomposes into hydrogen chloride, formic acid, and chloride gas when heated. The elimination reaction of this oxirane is catalyzed by hydrogen chloride, which is produced as a byproduct of the reaction
