Product Information
Valsartan-d9 ethyl ester is a new drug candidate for the treatment of hypertension. Valsartan-d9 ethyl ester is prepared by first preparing compound A, which is then combined with crospovidone and ethyl acetate in a basic hydrolysis reaction to produce valsartan-d9 ethyl ester. The lipase enzyme is used to remove the final d9 methyl group from the valsartan molecule, producing the active form of valsartan. The pressure ionization technique is used to express this drug, which produces an oral solid that can be taken by mouth. This drug has been shown to have unilateral effects on blood pressure in mice.
