Description:
1-Benzyl-4-iodoimidazole is a ligand that binds to metal cations, such as palladium, and inhibits the catalytic activity of these enzymes. It has been shown to bind to DNA duplexes and inhibit their function, leading to cell death. 1-Benzyl-4-iodoimidazole is a potent inhibitor of human telomerase and can be used in cancer therapy. This drug has also been shown to have antiviral properties against HIV in animal studies.
