3-[[3,5-Bis(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]amino]-4-[[(1R,2R)-2-(dimethylamino)cyclohexyl]amino]-3-cyclobutene-1,2-dione (TADDOL) is a sulfoxide that is used as an organocatalyst for asymmetric catalysis. It has been shown to be effective in the synthesis of racemic cyclobutanes and cyclopentanes. TADDOL is soluble in dimethyl sulfoxide and can be recrystallized from ethanol to produce a white powder. TADDOL is bifunctional because it can act as both an acid and a base. It has been shown to be effective as a reagent for asymmetric synthesis of linear molecules with high enantiomeric excesses. The calculated molecular weight of TADDOL is 331.07 g/mol.br>br
