2-Amino-N-benzyl-N-methyl-3-phenylpropanamide (ABMP) is a dopamine receptor agonist that is used to treat psychotic disorders. It has been shown to activate the D3 subtype of dopamine receptors, which are found in the limbic system of the brain. ABMP has a high affinity for these receptors and can be used in preclinical studies as a research tool for studying schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders. When administered to rats, ABMP increased locomotor activity, suggesting that it produces stimulant effects similar to those of amphetamine.
