1-Amino-2,5-anhydro-D-glucitol is a synthetic monosaccharide with the chemical formula C6H12O6. It is often used in custom synthesis and click modification of polysaccharides and oligosaccharides. The fluorination of this compound can be done to obtain a fluorinated 1-amino-2,5-anhydro-D-glucitol. 1AADG can also be modified at its methyl group to produce N,N'-diacetylmethylenecyclohexane carboxamide (CAS No. 2166517-07). This product has been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria such as Clostridium perfringens and Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
