Barium niobium oxide (BNO) is a compound that belongs to the class of oxides, with the chemical formula BaO. The crystal structure of BNO is cubic and it has a low light fluorescence. It is chemically stable in moist air and hydrolysis resistant. BNO also exhibits ferroelectric properties and has a phase transition temperature of about 1800 °C. The frequency shift for this material is 5-10 GHz when heated from room temperature to 1800 °C.
