Sodium titanate is a compound with the chemical formula NaTiO. It is an inorganic salt that can be obtained by reacting sodium carbonate and methyl ethyl alcohol. The phase transition temperature for sodium titanate is about 1000 K, which is relatively high. Sodium titanate has shown antibacterial efficacy against gram-positive bacteria and gram-negative bacteria, and has been shown to have a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) inhibitory effect on DNA synthesis. This compound also has electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) properties that are sensitive to pH changes. Sodium titanate has been used as an additive to zirconium oxide for producing ferroelectric materials such as piezoelectric ceramics, antiferroelectric materials such as piezoceramic materials, or ferroelectric materials such as ferroelectric ceramics.
