Product Information

Name:
(Methyl benzoate)tricarbonylchromium
Synonyms:
  • (eta6-Methylbenzoate) chromium tricarbonyl
  • Chromic
  • Methanone
  • Methyl Benzoate
Description:

Methyl benzoate tricarbonylchromium is a type of organometallic compound. It is a hexacarbonyl compound that has been shown to catalyze the cyclopentadienyl-sorbate reaction. The photodecomposition of this molecule has also been studied and found to produce carbonyls, fluorescence, and a spectrum that peaks at 420 nm. Methyl benzoate tricarbonylchromium has been successfully synthesized in supercritical carbon dioxide and was found to have an increased rate of decomposition at higher pressures.
Methyl benzoate tricarbonylchromium is soluble in water and has been shown to bind with serum albumin, which may be due to its arene group.
