The esters are also produced in the body during metabolism of fatty acids. Phosphoric Acid 2-Ethylhexyl Ester (Mono-and Di-Ester Mixture) is metabolized to form acidic compounds such as malonic acid, which can be detected in the urine by analytical chemistry.
