Description:
The D-form of this compound has been shown to have cancer chemopreventive and radical scavenging activities. It is a natural product that can be isolated from leaves of the plant Petasites hybridus, Psoralea corylifolia, or formosanus. The D-form has been synthesized by methylating the corresponding L-form with methanol in the presence of acid. The D-form has a more stable configuration than the L-form and is therefore more reactive towards radicals.
