Pentyl sulfamate is a sulfamic acid that reacts with an aliphatic hydrocarbon to form a molecule with the formula CHOSO. It has an aromatic hydrocarbon interacting with the light, which causes it to develop into a plate. This chemical can be used as a developing agent for film and paper in photography. Pentyl sulfamate is also used in the manufacture of other chemicals such as alkynyl group, nitrogen atoms, and hydroxy group. The proton on its sulfamic acid group can be replaced by sodium or potassium cations to form sodium or potassium salts of pentyl sulfamate. These salts have been used in the production of detergents, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals.
