Description:
5-[(1E)-2-(3,4,5-Trihydroxyphenyl)ethenyl]benzene-1,2,3-triol is a synthetic analog of epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). It has been shown to inhibit tumor growth in mice and humans by inhibiting mitochondrial superoxide production. 5-[(1E)-2-(3,4,5-Trihydroxyphenyl)ethenyl]benzene-1,2,3-triol also inhibits the proliferation of leukemia cells and induces apoptosis. This compound has also been found to have anti-inflammatory properties.
