Product Information

Name:
7-Hydroxy loxapine
Synonyms:
  • Dibenz(b,f)(1,4)oxazepin-7-ol, 2-chloro-11-(4-methyl-1-piperazinyl)-
Description:

Loxapine is a dibenzodiazepine derivative, which is an antipsychotic medication. Loxapine has been shown to bind to human liver and ovary cells. The n-oxide form of loxapine may be responsible for the binding to ovary cells. Loxapine has also been shown to have linear regression analysis in striatal membranes from rats that were anesthetized. Loxapine has been used as a nasal drug in clinical trials and is currently being developed for use as a regulatory drug. One study showed that it had anthelmintic activity against nematodes in laboratory experiments using patch-clamp techniques on rat striatal tissue.
