Description:
4,4'-Dipyridyl sulphide is a switchable coordination geometry molecule that has been shown to bind to anions. It can reversibly bind to drug targets such as the active site of enzymes and the cell membrane. 4,4'-Dipyridyl sulphide is a proton-selective ligand that binds to metal ions in a helical structure with a supramolecular arrangement. The uptake of this molecule by cells has been shown through crystal x-ray diffraction studies and it has also been found to be an electrophile that can be modified by other molecules such as modifiers.
