Product Information
- Carbonofluoridic acid, tricyclo[3.3.1.13,7]dec-1-yl ester
- (Adamantyloxy)carbonyl fluoride
Adamantyl fluoroformate is a synthetic compound that mimics the effects of hormones. It is an electrophile and reacts with nucleophiles in a reaction mechanism that can be described as nucleophilic addition. This reaction leads to the formation of a covalent bond between the electrophile and the nucleophile. Adamantyl fluoroformate has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties, which may be due to its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis. The deuterium isotope effect (DIE) was used to study this compound's mechanism of action on Alzheimer's disease, hepatitis, and endophytic fungus. 1-Adamantyl fluoroformate has been shown to have vasoconstrictive effects in high concentrations. This vasoconstriction may be caused by its ability to decrease blood flow through the vessels of the corpus cavernosum, which decreases blood pressure and causes erections. 1-Adamantyl fluoroformate
